Delete Your Account & Data

This page explains how to request deletion of your Dekho account and the personal data associated with it. This applies to the app published by Dekho Media under the developer account on Google Play.

Option 1 — Delete from within the app (fastest)

  • Open the Dekho app.
  • Go to Profile → Settings → Delete Account.
  • Confirm the deletion when prompted.
  • Your account and associated personal data are permanently removed.

Option 2 — Request by email (if you have uninstalled the app)

If you can no longer access the app, send a deletion request to:

Please email us with the subject line "Delete My Account" and include the registered mobile number linked to your account so we can verify and process your request. Do not share your OTP with anyone.

Delete only specific data (without deleting your account)

You do not have to delete your whole account to remove some of your data. You can:

  • Clear your learning / watch history from within the app;
  • Remove lessons from Saved / My List at any time;
  • For any other partial data-deletion request, email support@dekhomedia.in from your account, include your registered mobile number, and tell us exactly what you would like removed. Do not share your OTP with anyone.

What data is deleted

When your account is deleted, we permanently remove the personal data linked to your account, including:

  • Your registered mobile number and account profile;
  • Your learning / watch history, saved lessons / My List, likes, and in-app activity;
  • Device and push-notification tokens linked to your account.

What data may be retained

We may retain a limited amount of data only where required to:

  • Comply with legal, tax, accounting, or regulatory obligations (e.g. subscription/payment records held by Google Play);
  • Prevent fraud or abuse, or resolve disputes.

Such data is kept only for the period required by law and is then deleted or anonymized.

Subscriptions — please note

Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active Google Play subscription. To stop future billing, cancel your subscription separately in Google Play → Subscriptions before or after deleting your account.

Processing time

In-app deletions take effect immediately. Email requests are acknowledged within 24 hours and completed within 30 days.
